Steve Thompson brings over two decades of retail mortgage experience to his role as Senior Vice President for the West Region, overseeing Gateway Mortgage’s operations across Texas. Since joining Gateway, Steve has played a pivotal role in expanding the company’s footprint, driving growth, and building high-performing teams.
A passionate and results-driven leader, Steve is known for his commitment to empowering others to reach their full potential. His leadership style blends strategic vision with servant leadership. Steve is deeply involved in his community. He actively supports organizations such as Rotary International, the Danbury ISD Foundation, Texas Freemason, the Brazoria County Board of Realtors Association, and Habitat for Humanity. He is a proud alumnus of Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.
Steve’s life outside of work is equally dynamic. A devoted husband of 16 years and proud father to three daughters, he enjoys raising horses, managing his ranch, and fishing whenever possible. His adventurous spirit—rooted in his childhood in Belize—fuels his love for travel and the outdoors.
