You spoke, we listened!

Gateway Mortgage customers have provided a lot of terrific feedback on how we can better serve you. We are excited to announce several upgrades to our automated phone system and payment portal based on your feedback!

Over the next couple of months, changes will be made to our automated phone system and website, allowing customers more self-service options providing additional payment options by phone.

Website Payment Portal Changes

Effective 8/25/22, Gateway will no longer accept debit card payments. We will continue to accept ACH payments (electronic funds transfer) from checking or savings accounts. This change does not impact customers who are currently enrolled in recurring draft payments.

If you manage your mortgage online, our payment portal platform and paperless billing will be updated with new options for your account.

We will continue to have a wallet feature available! With this change, you will need to set up your wallet when making the first payment. This allows you to save your banking information for easy access for one-time payments.

With this change, the following payments can be made online:

  • Regular monthly payment

  • Construction loan payments

  • If the loan is current:
    - Principal/curtailment payments
    - Additional escrow payments
    - Late charge or fee payments

  • Financial assistance payments – Customers seeking financial assistance will now be able to make payments in our automated phone system. Once a new payment plan has been established with the customer, the following payment types can be submitted:
    - Repayment plans
    - Loss Mitigation (including Covid-19 forbearance)
    - Bankruptcy

Please note, if you are currently in a Bankruptcy case, this information is being provided to you for informational and compliance purposes only. It is not an attempt to collect a debt against you. Any payments you choose to make are voluntary.

Customers currently enrolled in paperless billing will remain paperless. No action is required on your part.

  • To enroll or unenroll in paperless billing prior to the changes, log into your online account, click “statements,” and then click the icon for Paperless.

*All monthly statements, escrow analysis statements, and end-of-year statements are available online. Over the next few months, we will expand our paperless options to include all letters and notices sent by Gateway Mortgage Servicing.

Automated Phone System Changes

On October 20, 2022, we will be updating our automated phone system to include these new features:

  • Verify your identity with two-factor authentication. A code can be sent to your mobile number, or a PIN number can be added to your account*

  • Hear your payment confirmation on the amount and date payment was received

  • Request a payoff statement

  • Request a verification of mortgage

  • Hear the loan’s current unpaid principal balance

  • Verify Escrow information, including:
    - When Gateway made your tax payment and to whom the payment was made
    - When Gateway made your insurance payment and to whom the payment was made

  • Payment options will match the website
