Gateway First Bank Appoints Natalia Coen as Chief Compliance Officer

Jenks, Okla., June 4, 2019 – Gateway First Bank, one of the ten largest banks by assets in the State of Oklahoma and one of the largest mortgage bank operations in the United States, announced Natalia Coen as its new Chief Compliance OfficerIn this role, Coen is responsible for planning, developing and managing the execution of a compliance management system and any related initiatives.

As Chief Compliance Officer, Coen will also advise senior management, the board of directors and any necessary committees of new laws and regulatory concerns. She will serve as a member of the risk and compliance committee and will oversee the compliance management processes for Gateway. Additionally, Coen will draft and implement compliance policies for the company and provide support and assistance to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and regulatory guidance.

“Natalia is an accomplished compliance professional who has a proven ability to lead and manage teams and projects,” said Scott Gesell, Chief Administrative Officer of Gateway. “Her extensive knowledge of banking services, consumer compliance issues, processes, regulatory requirements and more will make her a strong asset to Gateway as we continue our transition in the banking space. We are excited to have her join the team.”

Prior to joining Gateway, Coen was Senior Vice President and Director of Compliance at CoBiz Financial, a $3.8 billion financial services holding company in Denver, Colo., where she directed effective compliance, customer complaint, third-party contract and fair lending management programs among others. Coen is a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) and has a certificate in Operational Risk Management from the American Bankers Association. She received her bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Texas and her master’s degree in International Policy Studies from Middlebury Institute of International Studies.
